I have experienced similar issues with domains won via auction. This is why I try to transfer domains 2-3 months after acquiring them so that any technical issues with the registration can be resolved before the expiration. Most transfers go through without complications but within any batch of domains to be transferred there will always be one or two problematic transfers. Snapnames allows certain domains to be managed under one platform but many have to be managed with the other registrar. This can be very frustrating as one must deal with numerous platforms and menus to move domains. Fortunately ENOM consolidates them all into one account. Why can't Snapnames do this?

This happens to me often, here is what to do: unlock, initiate transfer to manage.snapnames (Udomainname) and drop email to support@snapnames.com that they need to hand-approve the transfer because IYD keep "private" whois. They will approve the transfer without having to click the verification emai and the domain will be transfered.
