As an Englishman living in Scotland, I can only agree with Robbie - it's a bit of a shrug the shoulders question. In fact, it's probably down to Alex Salmond's (pro independence) SNP stance of trying to make Scotland appear as different as possible for political reasons.
If/when Scotland becomes independent, then yes, obviously Until then it would just mean that Sottish businesses would have to buy a .sco as well as .co.uk and (usually) a .com - it's just name dilution.

Just my 2p worth, but if they do it, can we have .scot and not .sco please?

Im Scottish and yes it would be nice to have this ext but we dont really need it.

The .co.uk ext does well and if we create .sco then england would create .eng, wales .wal etc

I think we work better represented as one UK instead of seperate countries.

Just my thoughts!

Regards,
