3,459 Michael Jackson .COM Domains Registered

Since MJ died, there have been 3,459 .com domain names registered with the word “michael” in them. Don’t believe me? Well, here is the list I compiled (please give me credit if you use it) and a few extracts of interest:

In light of this registration frenzy, I’d ask the media, not to “tar and feather” the entire domain name industry with the actions of a few people who lack morals / ethics in this area.
Having said that, newspapers, TV and other sources “profit” from this as well. What do you think? Have you registered a MJ domain?

I purchased and am selling http://www.RIPKOP.com. I think that saying there is a lack of morals/ethics in doing so is completely unfounded.
Artists’ (Notorious BIG, Tupac, Jimi Hendrix, etc…) art doesn’t go away when they pass on. As a matter of fact, in most cases, sales rise. You may see that as an insincere comment, but when you realize that the royalty beneficiaries from these sales go to his 3 children and the debt he left behind then hopefully you can have enough sense in your head to realize there is a financial aspect when one passes on.
If there is a domain name that is meaningful and memorable, than that will help the sales of these items. Ideally it’d be great if the estate purchased it to serve as a memorial, and also offer exclusive products and memorabilia to fans. However, even if a company purchased it, the family still benefits from the royalties.

Most of these domain names were registered by stupid people. The names are totally worthless and make the whole domain industry looking bad…
But there are also fans, who simply liked MJ and would like to create a website about him.

Since they turned many streetnames including the street where he grew up to “Michael Jackson Boulevard” , i thought it would be a good idea to register jacksonboulevard.com.
Not directly connected to Michael cause there are many Jackson Boulevards al over the country !

It is so pathetic that some have to get the almighty dollar with no regard to family, friends, or fans of one so gentle spirited. You would think those people would at least wait till after the funeral was over before they start thrashing the unsuspecting fans with the ” just pay ” plug. God help them! Rest in the arms of our Lord Michael! We will miss you.
I have reservations about some of the names I have seen registered because I feel they are morbid or even disrespectful but names to sell ongoing products are not.
AEG and others will be releasing DVDs, videos, and pics from Michael’s dress rehearsals. I am sure these will be in demand for some time and have therefor registered those domain names:
